With an illustrious career spanning 32 years in the medical device industry, Mark has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to advancing technologies for the treatment of critical medical conditions.
Mark’s journey is marked by remarkable achievements, notably during his 15-year tenure as the president of Stryker Neurovascular. Under his guidance, Stryker Neurovascular experienced unprecedented growth, expanding its reach to over 60 countries and achieving remarkable revenue growth from $230 million to an astounding $1.3 billion. His focus on developing technologies for neurovascular conditions, peripheral vascular disease, and abdominal aortic aneurysms has had a profound impact on the medical landscape.
In addition to his global leadership roles, Mark played a pivotal role in bringing Stryker’s manufacturing operations to Utah in 2016. Since then, the operation has flourished, employing over 700 professionals and contributing significantly to the local economy.
Mark’s commitment to medical innovation reached a new chapter in April when he assumed the role of Executive Director at the University of Utah Health’s Center for Medical Innovation who found their new home at The Shop SLC. In this position, Mark continues to be a driving force in advancing the next generation of medical tools, working towards innovations that promise to improve and save lives.
Mark’s dedication to the advancement of medical technologies extends beyond his professional roles. His involvement as the Board Vice-Chair at BioUtah, Utah’s life sciences community trade association, is a testament to his commitment to fostering collaboration and progress in the industry.
