Startup NOLA Now: A Night of Networking and Innovation
Another edition of Startup NOLA Now took place at The Shop at the CAC this past Tuesday. Hosted by GNO, Inc., the gathering brought together a mix of startups, investors, and innovators for a night of networking, development and fun.
The night kicked off with a networking happy hour full of food and conversations. Attendees connected over food catered by Devil Moon BBQ which offered a spread of boudin links, ribs, smoked chicken wings, shrimp dip, smoked eggplant, pimento cheese, and house-made pickles. The event also proudly served local drinks from Brewery Saint X and 4D Drinks.
Following the happy hour, the focus shifted to a presentation by Mike Eckert of Gulf South Angels (GSA), formerly known as NO/LAAN. Mike’s presentation delved into the world of angel investing, offering insights into how early-stage investments can fuel the growth of startups. He also introduced the Gulf South Angel Investors Network, highlighting its mission to support innovative ventures across the Gulf South region.
The highlight of the evening was the panel discussion moderated by Eckert. The panel featured two accomplished entrepreneurs: Josh Johnston of TrayAway, and Trivia Frazier of Obatala Sciences. Both shared their journeys, challenges, and successes, providing a wealth of knowledge and inspiration to the audience.
The event provided an excellent platform for startups to gain visibility and connect with potential investors and mentors. The conversations and connections made during the event underscored the importance of community support in fostering innovation and growth.
