The Shop Workspace is thrilled to announce its upcoming expansion to Brooklyn’s Gowanus neighborhood, set to open in early 2025. This new location, situated at 420 Carroll, will be part of a larger mixed-use development that brings 360 new homes to the Gowanus community. Spanning 12,000 square feet on the second floor, The Shop at 420 Carroll is designed to foster creativity, productivity, and connection for freelancers, entrepreneurs, and growing businesses.

At The Shop, our goal has always been to create a flexible, inspiring work environment that meets the needs of a diverse range of professionals. From open commons to private offices, The Shop provides spaces that accommodate different workstyles. Whether you’re an independent worker seeking a collaborative atmosphere or a business looking for a private office, The Shop offers amenities and services that make it easy to focus on what you do best.

What makes this location truly unique is our partnership with Arts Gowanus, which allows us to offer subsidized studio space for local artists. In addition to commercial offices and coworking memberships, seven Arts Gowanus studios will be awarded to artists through a lottery system, and six Gowanus Mix studios will be available at reduced costs for local makers. This initiative strengthens our commitment to supporting the local creative community while providing much-needed workspaces for a variety of industries.

Members at The Shop Brooklyn will also gain access to The Shop’s global network of coworking spaces, including locations in Salt Lake City and New Orleans, as well as more than 100 spaces worldwide through the League of Extraordinary Coworking Spaces (LeXC).
