We Made a Workspace Playlist You’ll Actually Leave On

Let’s face it, most “coworking playlists” are either so chill they put you to sleep, or so upbeat they belong in a cycling class, not your workday. We wanted something different. Something you’d actually keep on. So we made a workspace playlist that works just as hard as you do, curated by The Shop Workspace team, built with real workdays in mind, and tested in our kitchens, lounges, private offices, and even that one spot with the perfect afternoon sunbeam.

Listen now on Spotify

This is not your average lo-fi beats mix. Our goal? A playlist that evolves with the day filled with music that helps you drop into focus, keep your momentum, and maybe even tap your foot a little between spreadsheets. It’s music that can handle a deep dive into Google Docs, a midday brainstorm with your creative team, or just vibing with a coffee in hand and a blank Notion page.

What’s On It?

A mix of indie, mellow alt-pop, groovy instrumentals, and just the right touch of nostalgia. Think Suki Waterhouse meets Anderson .Paak. Fleetwood Mac nestled up next to Dijon. A sprinkle of Frank Ocean, a soft landing with Big Thief. The vibe stays steady, but never stale.

You’ll find artists like:

  • Toro y Moi – for when you need to get in the zone without tuning out completely
  • Maggie Rogers – for that midmorning clarity hit
  • Tame Impala – because some days need just a little shimmer
  • Blood Orange – perfect for golden hour productivity
  • Sylvan Esso – because you deserve music that keeps you curious

It’s nearly 5 hours of music, but you won’t find any jarring transitions or unexpected mood-killers. We designed it to feel like one long, perfect workday – without the 3 p.m. slump.

Why This Workspace Playlist Exists

We’re in the business of curating good space, both physically and energetically. Our coworking spaces in Salt Lake City, New Orleans, and soon Brooklyn, are designed to support your best work, and sound is a big part of that. Whether it’s the warm buzz of a shared kitchen or the way a certain song makes a room feel more alive, we believe great vibes help make great work.

This playlist was born out of dozens of hours testing what feels good in the background. It had to meet a few non-negotiables:

  1. No lyrics you have to think too hard about (because you’re already writing an email that took 3 drafts)
  2. No chaos energy (we love chaos, just not before our second coffee)
  3. No overplayed pop hits (you can hear those at the grocery store)

We also crowdsourced some of the tracks from our community. Because The Shop isn’t just a workspace, it’s a bunch of people, across three cities, showing up and doing wildly different, wonderful things. And the soundtrack should reflect that.

A Living Workspace Playlist

This isn’t a one-and-done. We’ll be updating the playlist regularly with new finds, seasonal shifts, and crowd favorites. If you’ve got a song you swear by, we want to hear it. Drop it in next time you’re at The Shop or DM us on Instagram – we’re @shopworkspace across all platforms.

So next time you’re staring down your inbox, click play. We made this for you.

And yes, you really will leave it on.

Want to see what else we’ve got going on? Come by for a tour, a day pass, or just a good chat over coffee. We’ve got space and playlists, for all kinds of work.
