August is all about connection, celebration, and appreciating the community we’ve built here at The Shop. In honor of National Coworking Day on August 9, we’ve put together a full month of activities that highlight the spirit of collaboration and creativity that makes this space so special.
Whether you’re here for the coffee, the quiet corners, or the conversations, there’s something for everyone this month. Take a look at what’s happening:
Week of August 4–8
In Celebration of National Coworking Day (August 9)
All Week
We’re spotlighting the power of coworking — and the people who make it meaningful. Expect surprise giveaways, pop-up treats, and small celebrations throughout the week. Whether you’re new to the space or have been with us from the beginning, this week is all about honoring the shared energy of working together.
Monday, August 4 – Member Monday
We’re kicking off the month by celebrating YOU — the incredible members who bring life, ideas, and laughter to The Shop every day. Stop by to grab some exclusive Shop swag, send a little surprise to a fellow member, and let us know what you’d love to see in the space in the months ahead.
Tuesday, August 5 – Music Matters
Help us build The Shop’s official summer playlist! Music is such a powerful part of the workday, and we want to hear what songs have been powering you through projects, meetings, and Monday slumps. Scan the QR code in the 3rd Floor Comadd your favorites.
Wednesday, August 6 – Dog Days of Coworking
Bring your four-legged coworker to the office and enjoy a day that’s just as fun for your pup as it is for you. We’ll have giveaways for pet parents and our special Cookie Club will include treats for both humans and dogs. Whether your dog is a lounge-lover or a lap-hopper, they’re welcome here.
Thursday, August 7 – Workspace Glow-Up
Ready to refresh your setup? We’ll have supplies to help you clean, declutter, and customize your desk — including mini plants and other touches to make your space feel like home. It’s the perfect excuse to finally organize that drawer or pin up something inspiring.
Friday, August, 8-Creative Mornings- 8:30-10
Creative Mornings Salt Lake City is a community that celebrates the creativity of the Salt Lake Valley from North Ogden all the way down to Provo.
They believe that creativity is a fundamental aspect of being human, and that everyone has the potential to be creative. That’s why we host monthly events that bring people together to connect and learn with creative leaders in our community. We believe in the power of in-person interactions and in the importance of fostering community, connections, and relationships.
Friday, August 8 – National (Day Before) Coworking Day
Celebrate the coworking lifestyle with a free day of free access at The Shop. Invite a friend or colleague to join you and enjoy the space on us. Whether you’re trying us out for the first time or just want to close out the week with fresh energy, Friday is all about community and connection.
Week of August 11–15
Tuesday, August 12 – National Vinyl Record Day
Join us for an afternoon listening session from 2–5pm as we celebrate the timeless joy of vinyl records. We’ll be spinning some favorites from our collection, and we’d love for you to bring in your own to share. Whether you’re into classics, deep cuts, or modern pressings, this is your time to drop the needle.
Wednesdau, August 13 – Midweek Snack Break: National Creamsicle Day
There’s nothing like a creamsicle to bring you back to summer afternoons as a kid. Come grab a nostalgic treat to help you cool down, recharge, and tackle the second half of your Thursday with a smile.
Thursday, August 14th – Member Happy Hour: National Prosecco Day, Pop-Up with Proverbial Spirits
What better way to toast midweek than with a refreshing prosecco spritzer? Stop by our Member Happy Hour to enjoy some bubbly and connect with fellow members. Whether you’re new or familiar, it’s a great way to meet new faces and unwind.

Tuesday, August 19 – Cookie Club: Sugar Cookie Decorating
Unleash your inner artist — or just enjoy something sweet. We’ll have sugar cookies and decorating supplies on hand so you can add your own flair. Stop by for a quick creative break or stay and decorate a batch for your team.
Wednesday, August 20 – Member Breakfast: National Bacon Lovers Day
It’s bacon’s big day, and we’re celebrating with a breakfast spread that honors the crispy, savory star. Stop in early for a hearty morning meal and connect with members over coffee and conversation. Vegetarian options will be available, too.
Thursday, August 21 – Midweek Snack Break: Watermelon Madness
Nothing says summer like fresh, juicy watermelon. Swing by for slices, snacks, and a refreshing moment in your workday. Whether you like it plain, in a salad, or spiced up with Tajín, we’ve got you covered.
Week of August 25–29
Tuesday, August 26 – Member Breakfast: Banana Pancakes
Start your morning with a warm stack of banana pancakes and some quality community time. Whether you’re easing into the day or fueling up for meetings, we’ll have breakfast waiting for you in the lounge.
Wednesday, August 27 – Midweek Snack Break: Cheese Board Edition
We’re elevating your afternoon with a classic cheese board — but with a Shop twist. Expect a mix of flavors, textures, and maybe a few surprises. It’s the perfect way to unwind and connect with fellow members.
Thursday, August 28 – Complimentary Coworking + Member Happy Hour
We’re opening our doors for a day of free coworking — invite your friends, clients, or curious colleagues to join you. Then, close out the month with a member happy hour in the lounge. It’s our way of saying thank you for being part of the community and making August one to remember.
