Whether it’s your first time exploring Japan or you’re looking for inspiration for your next visit, this interactive workshop will guide you through every step of the planning process. From understanding the best seasons to travel and how to book key reservations, to discovering hidden gems across Japan’s prefectures, this session is packed with practical advice and insider tips. Bring your questions and a notebook — by the end, you’ll have the tools and confidence to plan your own unforgettable Japanese adventure.
The evening will be led by Jennifer Torres, Vice President of the Japan Society of New Orleans. Jennifer brings over a decade of firsthand experience in Japanese travel and culture, beginning with her study abroad in Kyoto in 2010. Since then, she has led university programs, written for Japan travel publications, and most recently, directed the 2024 Matsue Exchange in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the New Orleans–Matsue sister city relationship.
This is just one example of the kind of unique, community-driven programming hosted at The Shop at the CAC — where professional growth meets cultural discovery.
Join us for an evening that’s equal parts practical and inspiring — and start mapping your journey to Japan today.
