Member Spotlight: Maya Lorton

Looking for the fun of a company without the stress of planning it? Trip Designer, Maya, has got you covered! Maya works for TeamOut, a new Y Combinator startup designed to organize custom retreats for companies and their employees. We sat down with Maya to learn more about Teamout, and learn her recommendation for the best kept secret for a Utah outing.

Q: Can you tell me more about the work that you do?

A: My title is Trip Designer for TeamOut, a Y Combinator startup that specializes in overnight retreats. We focus on boutique hotels, meals and catering, and ground transportation. Wee also have started to plan team activities for the areas we focus in.

Q: What do you enjoy most about the work that you do?

A: My job is all about fun. We foster environments that are meant to help people let loose, and in turn they connect and work together. By creating amazing experiences for people in unique locations and fostering team bonding, we help companies improve teamwork and innovation. The free stays at hotels never hurts either!

Q:How did you find The Shop? Has The Shop impacted the way that you work?

A: One of my clients is Donnaly Crull, who has a membership here. She recommended the space to me, and I love it. I actually tried a different co-working space first, and quickly realized I needed to come over to The Shop. The environment is perfect for getting my head down, and work done.

Q: What do you think the best kept secret of Salt Lake City in Midway. You can participate in paddle board yoga, scuba diving, or hang out and swim. It is the only warm scuba diving in the continental U.S., and a great place for a unique retreat in Utah.

We are thrilled to have members like Maya in our community, who are dedicated to fostering environments in which teams can bond and grow. Maya enjoys her trip designing in our 3rd floor commons. Contact Maya to book your next, unforgettable, company retreat!
