The Greater New Orleans region is #7 in the USA for tech growth. An exciting catalyst behind that momentum is the expansion of tech giant, Excella, adding a second base of operations to their Alexandria headquarters that will be right here in the Crescent City.
Gov. John Bel Edwards reported to the Louisiana Economic Development department: “This is a great win for Louisiana’s rapidly expanding technology sector…Companies like Excella are diversifying the state’s economy while also driving innovation and empowering our workforce with quality, high-paying jobs.”
The timing is perfect, as the city is just gearing up for it’s premiere entrepreneurial event of the year, New Orleans Entrepreneur Week (NOEW), a 6-day fest assembled by Shop Members – The Idea Village – where startup founders, business leaders, aspiring entrepreneurs, industry experts, investors, and leaders come together to celebrate, learn, and network at the intersection of innovation and culture.
The Shop will be participating in this year’s NOEW In Your Neighborhood Monday and Tuesday March 27 and 28, with social events and programming from investor consultants NO/LA Angel Network, and cyber tech experts BIOS Technologies. As a special feature, CEO Burton White of the tech consulting gurus at Excella will be doing a keynote speech on building tech communities, in The Shop CAC’s forum.
The topic is particularly relevant in respect to that decision to invest in building a strong tech community here. Focusing their New Orleans’-based operations on software development for government and business organizations, Excella will bring 150 jobs and 21 million in annual income revenue to the city. The only thing that could be better? They’ve been working with Shop Members at Greater New Orleans, Inc. and have also chosen The Shop as their gulf coast home base. The company prides itself on being a remote-flexible firm, making them an excellent fit for the coworking community here.
Join us as we welcome this groundbreaking company to the city, and to The Shop, on Tuesday, March 28th at 6pm, and to learn about this powerful topic directly from a long-time leading tech executive.
