Will Terry, Making an Impact at 22
At just 22 years old, Will Terry has already left an indelible mark on the political landscape of Utah. As the Political Action Coordinator for Equality Utah, Will’s career has been nothing short of inspiring. When asked what he is most proud of in his career thus far, Will humbly shared his significant contributions. One standout accomplishment was his instrumental role in the bipartisan passage of legislation that banned conversion therapy in Utah.
For those unfamiliar, conversion therapy is a harmful and discredited practice aimed at changing an individual’s sexual orientation or gender identity. Will’s involvement in the successful effort to outlaw this practice was a vital victory for LGBTQ+ rights and mental health in the state.
In addition to this milestone, Will has led initiatives to support pro-LGBTQ+ candidates in the 2021, 2022, and 2023 election cycles. His dedication to fostering positive change extends even further. He was appointed to the Salt Lake City Human Rights Commission, an organization dedicated to eradicating discrimination within Salt Lake City and enhancing the general welfare of its residents, diverse neighborhoods, and businesses.
