Member Spotlight: Sarah Pendleton

In this exclusive Q&A session, we connected with Shop SLC Member Sarah Pendleton to learn more about Peachie and the impact of coworking in Sarah’s journey. Sarah works for Peachie, founded on the premise of revolutionizing recipe sharing, it is not just a platform but a community hub where culinary enthusiasts converge to exchange, create, and cherish recipes in both digital and tangible forms.

1. Tell me more about your company, what do you all do?

I work for Peachie, a great startup company, recently featured in Utah Business. It is a social platform for creating, collecting, and sharing recipes, both digitally and in print. Peachie can instantly convert your random and disorganized recipe cards into a consistent digital format, and you can order gorgeous prints on special washable/waterproof paper to create an heirloom cookbook.

2. What is your favorite part about the work that you do?

I’m a huge design system nerd, and I love being in charge of building and scaling the design system. I’m also a giant prototyping nerd, and I love to create interactive prototypes for presentations.

3. How has being a member of The Shop Workspace impacted your work and creativity?

Coming into The Shop every day has transformed how I work. The energy and the environment are so good for me, and I am super productive.

4. Share a memorable moment or achievement that happened while working at The Shop.

I was working under a huge deadline and had to have a slide deck prepared. I wasn’t sure I was going to meet my deadline, but I pushed through all day and got it done in the nick of time. As soon as I sent the deck off, I got myself a cup of coffee from the coffee bar, relaxed in a booth, and watched the rain. It felt amazing to just lean into my breath and absorb that sense of accomplishment.

5. What’s your favorite thing about the community at The Shop Workspace?

I am so grateful for the awesome people I have met here. They are a constant source of support, inspiration, and laughter. Being part of the community has resulted in friendships and opportunities that never would have come my way otherwise.

6. Any advice for fellow members or entrepreneurs considering coworking spaces?

Don’t forget to get up, take breaks, move your body, and connect with others. I find that when I’m struggling with a complex problem, getting up and taking a break gives me ideas and new perspectives.
