The 2024 Orleans Parish School Board elections are fast approaching, and now is the time to make your voice heard. Our Voice Nuestra Voz invites you to join a Parent-Led Candidate Forum on Monday, October 7th at 6 PM, hosted at The Shop at the CAC.
This forum is a unique opportunity for parents, guardians, and community members to directly engage with candidates running for the Orleans Parish School Board. All candidates have been invited to share their vision for our schools and to answer the questions that matter most to you—questions about the future of our students, teachers, and community.
Our Voice Nuestra Voz emphasizes the importance of this event, saying, “One of the most important decisions we make as a community is selecting the leaders who will shape our children’s education.” With a focus on student-centered discussions, this forum will be led by OVNV’s Parent Empowerment Collective, a group of Black and Brown, English and Spanish-speaking parent leaders.
Whether you’re concerned about curriculum, school safety, or equity in education, this forum provides a platform to ensure your voice is heard. As a community-focused organization dedicated to advocating for Black and Brown families, Our Voice Nuestra Voz is committed to empowering parents to engage in shaping the future of education.
Translation services, childcare, and food will be provided, making it easy for all community members to participate. Don’t miss this chance to meet the candidates and take part in shaping the future of education in Orleans Parish.
