One of the best parts of The Shop is the incredible founders and builders who make up our community. This week, we’re excited to spotlight Crystal Burke, Co-Founder and Clinical Director of The Menopause Clinic.
The Menopause Clinic is a New Orleans-based company redefining how women across Louisiana receive care for perimenopause and menopause. By combining specialized medical expertise with technology that enables ongoing communication and near real-time support, their model allows women to access expert guidance without waiting months for appointments or navigating a fragmented healthcare system.
The idea for the venture came after Crystal saw how many women were struggling with symptoms but weren’t getting clear answers or effective care.
“Many women were told their symptoms were just stress or just aging, even though they were experiencing real changes that were affecting their sleep, focus, mood, relationships, and work. It became clear that this wasn’t just a clinical issue – it was a major gap in the healthcare system.”
Today, the team is focused on expanding access to menopause care across Louisiana while continuing to refine a model that combines medical expertise, education, and technology.
But beyond the venture itself, Crystal says The Shop Workspace has played an important role in her journey as a founder.
“I chose to work from The Shop because it’s one of the few places in New Orleans where founders, creatives, and entrepreneurs from different industries are building things side by side. That environment makes it easier to stay inspired, think bigger, and feel connected to the broader startup community.”
She says what she loves most about The Shop is the shared energy among people who are actively building.
“Whether someone is launching a startup, developing a creative project, or growing a company, there’s a shared energy around trying new things and solving problems.”
For Crystal, being part of The Shop has also opened the door to new conversations, introductions, and collaborations. It has even served as a space to host community events, including a menopause-focused comedy show last November, aimed at bringing humor and openness to a topic that is often overlooked.
If she had to describe The Shop in one sentence:
“The Shop is a place where founders, creatives, and professionals in New Orleans come together to build ideas, share knowledge, and support each other’s growth.”
We’re grateful to have Crystal as part of The Shop community and excited to see how The Menopause Clinic continues expanding access to women’s health care across Louisiana. Learn more about the Menopause Clinic here.
