The Utah Black Chamber has been paving the way for underrepresented and minority owned businesses through the state since 2009. Founded by, James Jackson III, and run by Sidni Shorter, The Utah Black Chamber is blazing a trail to create engaging partnerships to improve the lives of black professionals and business leaders across the state of Utah. One of those paths to improving these lives is through the highly anticipated First Friday mixer.

First Fridays are a recurring monthly mixer sponsored by Mountain America Credit Union that highlights Utah small businesses. During First Friday, you can enter your small business into a drawing to receive a $500 grant from both Mountain America and Microsoft to invest in the overall growth of your new or existing business. Each monthly mixer gives the opportunity to the previous month’s winnter to showcase their work and network in the community. We have had the honor of hosting multiple First Friday’s including the one for March. This month’s business spotlights winners were Black Heart Media, Palate Gourmet, and Vidzual.
